Removing unused footage from your Premiere Pro projects can save you a lot of hard drive space. Premiere has a feature that makes this very easy. If you're looking in A Cam view in the project panel, it's very easy to see which clips are being used in a sequence and which ones aren't.

For instance this clip here is being used in a sequence and you can tell because of this blue symbol down here. While the rest of these clips don't have this symbol, so it is very clear that they are not being used in a sequence. To remove these unused clips without having to select them individually and avoid clicking on any of these used clips, you can come up to the Edit menu, and click Remove Unused.

This will automatically delete all unused footage from your Premier Pro project. Now, we can see in the project panel that only clips that are being used in sequences are in this project. Removing unused clips from the premier project does not, however, automatically delete them off your hard drive.

You can go into the folder on your hard drive that contains the files and start deleting the unused clips just using the process of elimination. For more tips and training on Premiere Pro, visit trainsimple.com.
